Megyn Kelly has publicly criticized actress Jennifer Aniston following Aniston’s condemnation of Ohio Senator JD Vance. The disagreement centers on Vance’s past comments about “childless cat ladies,” which resurfaced online and sparked controversy.
In a July 2021 Fox News interview with Tucker Carlson, Vance made remarks about Democratic politicians like Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pete Buttigieg. He labeled them as “people without children” and questioned their stake in the future of the country. Notably, Harris is a stepmother to her husband’s children, and Buttigieg and his husband have adopted twins. Vance’s comments were interpreted by some as dismissive of those without children.
Jennifer Aniston’s Response
Aniston, 55, criticized Vance on Instagram, expressing concern over his remarks. She posted a tweet featuring Vance’s comments and said, “Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day.” She further suggested that Vance’s stance might impact access to IVF treatments, stating, “Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”
Megyn Kelly’s Counter-Arguments
On her show, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly defended Vance, describing his comments as “tongue-in-cheek.” Kelly criticized Aniston’s response, questioning her focus on Vance’s remarks rather than other issues. She asked, “Where was Jennifer Aniston standing up for little girls facing gender ideology pressures or for athletes injured in high school sports?” Kelly expressed skepticism about Aniston’s advocacy, suggesting it seemed insincere.
JD Vance’s Rebuttal
Vance responded to Aniston’s criticism by addressing the personal nature of her comments. Appearing on Kelly’s show, Vance called the criticism “disgusting” because his daughter is only two years old. He added that if his daughter faced fertility issues, he would support her through every possible means, as he values family and children.
Aniston’s IVF Experience
In a 2022 interview with Allure Magazine, Aniston discussed her own struggles with IVF. She shared that she had undergone numerous treatments and wished she had been advised to freeze her eggs earlier. Despite her challenges, Aniston expressed “a little relief” and “zero regrets” about her journey.
