Can you believe it’s already August? Summer has been flying by, but it still feels endless in many parts of the country. The temperature has been stuck in the 90s for weeks, and I am ready for it to be fall. I was ready before summer even began. In fact, I’m so eager for autumn that I’m considering following Selena Gomez’s lead and trying out some autumn-themed nail polish.
Gomez posted a “nailfie” on Instagram on Thursday, and it brings all the fall vibes. Her left hand rests on a cream-colored, possibly cashmere, pair of sweater pants, creating the perfect backdrop for her pumpkin-spice manicure.
Her nails, shaped between ballerina and oval, are long but manageable. The real highlight, though, is the color. If you look closely at Gomez’s Instagram story, you’ll see that her nail artist, Tom Bachik, customized the exact shade she wanted. While most of us don’t have access to endless nail polish options, celebrities like Gomez can get any color they desire.
Bachik hasn’t shared the details of the color mix yet. His Instagram post simply says, “A custom brick red for @selenagomez.” But I won’t wait for specifics to try similar shades from my collection, hoping to bring a bit of October into this sweltering summer.
