Emma Roberts recently shared a close-up of her dazzling engagement ring, just two weeks after announcing her engagement. The “Scream Queens” actress took to Instagram on Thursday, posting a carousel of images that included the impressive diamond set in a simple gold band, gifted by her fiancé Cody John.
The couple, who met through mutual friends, have been dating since 2022. In her Instagram post, Emma captured a photo of her ring with Cody seated behind her on a plane. Cody, like Emma, is also an actor, known for his work on Hulu’s “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” and The CW’s “In the Dark.” The pair maintain a relatively private relationship, only occasionally sharing photos of each other on social media.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Emma explained their decision to keep their relationship private. “I never want to talk about relationships I’m in or that are ending or have ended. It’s hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience,” she said.
Emma captioned her latest Instagram carousel “goodbye July.” The post included a selfie with singer Camila Cabello, both dressed elegantly, and a sweet photo of Emma holding her son Rhodes, whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund. Friend and supermodel Cara Delevingne congratulated the couple in the comments, writing, “congratulations angel!”
The couple announced their engagement two weeks ago on Emma’s Instagram with a joyful picture of the two smiling after the proposal. Many of Emma’s friends and fellow celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan, Ashley Tisdale, Eiza Gonzalez, AnnaSophia Robb, Kristin Chenoweth, and Nicky Hilton, congratulated the couple in the comments. Lea Michele, Emma’s “Scream Queens” co-star, added, “Already planning the bachelorette!!!! So happy for you babe!!!”
Emma humorously captioned her engagement announcement post, “putting this here before my mom tells everyone,” referencing her mom’s accidental revelation of her pregnancy. During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Emma recounted how her mother, Kelly Cunningham, inadvertently shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram. “I was keeping my pregnancy pretty low-key, but unfortunately, my mother has Instagram. Mothers and Instagram, it’s a bad combination. She spilled the beans,” Emma said.
Despite the slip-up, Emma and her mother Kelly, who was previously married to Julia Roberts’ brother Eric, have a strong bond. Emma told People magazine that her mother’s support has been invaluable. “I’m so lucky my mom helps me a lot. I would die without my mom,” she admitted.
