David and Victoria Beckham have been married for over 25 years. Throughout this time, Victoria, famously known as Posh Spice, has stuck to a remarkably simple diet, according to her husband.
David Beckham shared insights into their contrasting culinary habits on the “River Cafe Table 4” podcast. While David enjoys a wide variety of fine foods, he revealed that his wife has maintained the same plain meal for the last quarter of a century.
“I get quite emotional about food and wine. When I’m eating something great, I want everyone to try it,” David said. “Unfortunately, I’m married to someone who has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years.”
Since they met, Victoria’s diet has consisted solely of grilled fish and steamed vegetables, with very few exceptions. David recalled one rare occasion when she deviated from her routine. It happened when Victoria was pregnant with their daughter, Harper. “She tried something off my plate, and it was the most amazing thing,” he said. “It was one of my favorite evenings. I can’t remember what it was, but I know she hasn’t eaten it since.”
When Victoria is away, David indulges in his culinary passions. He shared a recent experience when he cooked one of the best meals he’s had in a long time.
“I was in isolation for five days after returning from Italy. On one of the last days, Victoria’s parents had a party, and I couldn’t attend. So, I was alone in the house, and I secretly loved it,” he recounted. “I had two of the most amazing cuts of meat—one was a T-bone, and the other was English wagyu. I poured myself a glass of the most amazing red wine, set up the barbecue, and looked forward to watching football alone in the afternoon.”
David described the meal in detail, emphasizing how perfectly it turned out. “I had a nice tomato and shallot salad, the meat, and a glass of wine. It was the most amazing meal I’ve had in a long time. Those are my favorite afternoons and evenings.”
He cooked the wagyu for six or seven minutes on each side, seasoning it with just salt and pepper. “I like my meat rare, medium at a push, but more rare. It came out perfect.
And since I was alone in the house, I ate it all,” he said.
David also touched on their children’s ventures. While their second-oldest son, Romeo, 21, is following in David’s footsteps as a footballer, their oldest, Brooklyn, 25, has recently shifted his focus from photography to cooking. Brooklyn now hosts his own cooking show, “Cookin’ with Brooklyn.”
