Chris Evans’ Comments on Deadpool & Wolverine Raise Concerns About His Future MCU Return: “I’d Do Anything For Ryan”.
After concluding his Marvel Cinematic Universe journey in Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans made an unexpected return to the franchise, reprising his previous superhero role.
However, his recent comments about his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine have sparked concerns about whether he’ll ever return to the MCU. For nearly ten years, Evans portrayed Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, becoming a central figure in the MCU and a founding member of the Avengers. However, at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Evans passed on Cap’s shield and decided to retire to a life in his own time.
Since then, Evans has been repeatedly asked if he would consider returning to the MCU, either as Captain America or in another role. He has consistently stated that he prefers to leave Steve’s story as it is. Nevertheless, this didn’t prevent him from returning as another Marvel superhero, Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, for a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. In the weeks following the film’s release, Evans has shared what it took to bring him back to the MCU, and his remarks suggest it may be a challenge to convince him to return again.
