As excitement builds for the upcoming release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (also known as Beetlejuice 2), set to hit UK cinemas next month, fans are not just eager for the film itself. They are equally captivated by the fashion show unfolding during the film’s global press tour. With appearances scheduled across the world, the cast’s promotional outfits are generating as much buzz as the movie.
Recent blockbuster tours have shown how much these events have become a runway of themed attire. Zendaya made waves with her stunning red carpet looks for Dune 2, quickly followed by her promotional outfits for Challengers. Margot Robbie’s wardrobe during the Barbie movie tour was equally impressive, while Blake Lively recently turned heads by changing outfits three times in one day.
Jenna Ortega, known for her role as Wednesday Addams, is embracing the challenge with her Beetlejuice tour wardrobe. While her gothic style might seem like her usual fashion choice, it’s clear that Jenna is following the footsteps of Zendaya, Margot, and Blake by dressing in a way that reflects her film’s theme.
For those familiar with the original 1988 Beetlejuice film, the black-and-white striped suit worn by the title character is iconic. Jenna paid tribute to this look with a Dolce & Gabbana pinstripe skirt suit, an unmistakable nod to the film. Her other outfits have adhered to a monochrome color scheme, echoing the visual style of the Beetlejuice universe. These include a black and white satin corset by Agent Provocateur, paired with a black satin skirt from Cider, and a striking chainmail mini dress—all worn during a press day in New York on Monday, August 19.
However, the most direct homage to Beetlejuice came later that day when Jenna stepped out in a prep school-inspired outfit. Styled by Enrique Melendez, Jenna’s navy blue cardigan, white blouse, and plaid midi skirt were almost a perfect replica of a costume worn by Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz, in the original film. This choice was particularly fitting, as Jenna plays Astrid Deetz, Lydia’s daughter, in the new movie.
Jenna completed the look with a playful accessory: a top-handle bag resembling a book titled “Handbag for the Recently Deceased,” a clever twist on the “Handbook for the Recently Deceased” from the original movie.
With such attention to detail and thematic dressing, Jenna Ortega is proving that she’s as committed to her film’s fashion as she is to her role. Fans are eagerly awaiting her next fashion statement as the Beetlejuice tour continues.
