Siddharth Anand is set to direct a new action film featuring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. The film will be produced by Anand and his wife, Mamta Anand, under their production company, Marflix.
Anand is known for directing successful action films such as Bang Bang, War, Pathaan, and Fighter. He and Mamta have been working together to create a lineup of ten feature films that aim to provide audiences with unique cinematic experiences. Their latest project will see Akshay Kumar take on a significant role in an action-packed film directed by Milan Luthria.
Sources close to the project reveal that Kumar and Anand have been discussing this collaboration for some time. The film will focus on a vigilante theme, with the script developed by the director-writer duo of Milan Luthria and Rajat Arora. Once the script was finalized, both the team and Kumar agreed that he was the perfect fit for the role.
The source added that Kumar is eager to explore new action styles under Anand’s guidance, who is currently one of the top directors in the industry. “Akshay enjoys action films and is always ready for new challenges. This film will showcase him in a way that honors his legacy in action,” the source said.
Marflix is preparing to launch several projects in the coming year, including King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan. Other projects include Jewel Thief, featuring Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, and Krrish 4, a superhero film led by Hrithik Roshan. Additionally, they are working on a female-led action film and a high-budget epic directed by Siddharth Anand himself.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has a busy schedule ahead, with projects like Jolly LLB 3, Welcome to the Jungle, and Housefull 5 lined up for 2025.
