Saripodhaa Sanivaaram had a strong opening at the box office, grossing ₹58 crore worldwide during its first four days. The film, starring Nani, earned approximately ₹40 crore in India, with another ₹18 crore (USD 2.15 million) coming from international markets.
The movie resonated particularly well with urban audiences, leading to a successful weekend in key regions such as Nizam, Karnataka, and the United States. In the Nizam region alone, the film brought in around ₹15 crore, contributing a share of over ₹7 crore. Saturday saw a significant boost in collections, matching the levels of the opening day.
However, there was a slight dip on Sunday, which is common for films that perform strongly in Hyderabad.
A noteworthy achievement for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram was its performance in Karnataka, where it grossed over ₹5 crore. The distributors in the region reached their break-even point over the weekend itself. Similarly, the film saw substantial returns overseas, particularly in the United States, where it recorded a strong weekend collection of USD 1.70 million. Tamil Nadu also contributed positively, with weekend earnings nearing ₹4 crore, especially with solid numbers on Saturday and Sunday. However, the Hindi-dubbed version of the film failed to gain traction.
Despite its overall success, the film faced challenges in Andhra Pradesh, where it struggled to perform, except in Vizag. Distributors in the region are expected to incur losses.
However, these losses are expected to be offset by the gains in other regions, allowing the film to maintain its financial success.
This year has been difficult for the Telugu film industry, with even successful films underperforming in Andhra Pradesh. Notably, even major releases like Kalki 2898 AD have not met expectations in the state. The only exception has been Hanuman, which benefited from the lucrative Sankranti period. Although ticket price issues have been resolved with the recent regime change, box office collections in Andhra Pradesh still lag behind past levels. The industry now eagerly anticipates the release of Devara at the end of the month, which is expected to perform well in the state.
