Heidi Feek has responded to her father Rory Feek’s recent blog post, which addressed claims made by his two adult daughters, Heidi and Hopie. In an open letter shared on social media, Heidi expressed her feelings about the ongoing family conflict and emphasized her desire for communication.
On August 31, 2024, Rory Feek published a blog post where he discussed the accusations from his daughters. They claim he has cut them off from their youngest sister, Indiana, and has been unkind to them. Rory expressed that the allegations left him feeling sad and heartbroken.
In her response, Heidi stated that she and Hopie were “just happy to hear from him” after trying to reach out without success. She pointed out that they had been attempting to contact him for months but received no replies. “You’re right, of course, online isn’t the place to settle this,” she added, highlighting their efforts to communicate offline.
Heidi also stated, “Love is action, not words,” and mentioned that she forgives Rory for his unkind comments. She recalled the last time they spoke, during which Rory told her he was done being a father to them.
Despite this, she expressed her willingness to forgive him.
In her letter, Heidi included a screenshot of multiple unanswered text messages sent to Rory in July, inquiring about Indiana, whom she last saw in June. The three sisters—Heidi, Hopie, and Indiana—were once very close, but Heidi noted that their relationship changed abruptly about three years ago.
Heidi’s husband, Dillon Hodges, also wrote a letter to Rory, addressing the decision to stop allowing Indiana to spend the night at their home in Alabama. In her letter, Heidi listed several grievances against Rory, including an incident where he allegedly abandoned them as children and his unkind behavior on multiple occasions.
Despite the pain, Heidi mentioned that both she and Hopie have emerged stronger from their experiences and are on a journey of healing. Indiana is the daughter of Rory and his late wife, Joey Feek, who passed away in 2016 when Indiana was just two years old. Rory married Rebecca, Indiana’s teacher, in July.
As the family dispute continues, it remains unclear if Heidi and Hopie have pursued legal action against Rory, as no lawyer has commented on the situation. The ongoing tensions have raised concerns about Indiana’s well-being and the family’s future dynamics.
