Hollywood icon John Travolta arrived in Sydney on Wednesday afternoon, landing via his private jet, which he piloted from Queenstown Airport in New Zealand. The 70-year-old actor, known for his aviation skills, greeted photographers and ground staff from the cockpit of his $30 million aircraft.
Travolta’s 24-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu, was spotted disembarking the plane, with staff using umbrellas to shield her from photographers. It is also believed that his 13-year-old son, Benjamin, is accompanying them on this trip.
The purpose of Travolta’s visit to Australia remains unclear. However, he has visited the country over ten times and considers it his “second home.” His connection to Australia extends to his role as a global ambassador for Qantas and his long-standing friendship with the late Olivia Newton-John, whom he met while filming Grease in 1978.
Travolta’s arrival in Sydney follows a recent father-daughter trip to Paris, where he and Ella attended the Olympic Games. He shared highlights of their Parisian adventure on Instagram, featuring clips of them at events such as the gymnastics competition and Roland-Garros. In a video montage, Travolta, wearing a black beret, documented their journey and time spent exploring the city.
The actor shares Ella and Benjamin with his late wife, Kelly Preston, who passed away in 2020 from breast cancer. Preston had kept her diagnosis private. Tragically, their family also experienced the loss of their eldest son, Jett, in 2009, who died from a seizure during a vacation in the Bahamas.
