A spinoff series based on the popular “Reacher” show is in development at Amazon Prime Video, according to sources.
Nick Santora, who developed the original series, is co-writing the spinoff with Nicholas Wootton. The new series is expected to focus on Frances Neagley, a character portrayed by Maria Sten in the main series. Details about the plot remain undisclosed.
The decision to create more content within the “Reacher” universe follows the success of the series led by Alan Ritchson, which is based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. The show was renewed for a third season before the second season even premiered. During its debut weekend, the second season became the top title on Prime Video worldwide, with a 50% increase in global viewership compared to the first season.
The upcoming third season will adapt Child’s novel “Persuader,” where Reacher goes undercover to rescue an informant from a dangerous enemy. Sten will return for this season, alongside new cast members including Anthony Michael Hall and Sonya Cassidy.
The series is produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance, and CBS Studios, with Child serving as an executive producer. Ritchson will also take on an executive producer role starting with Season 3.
As anticipation builds for the spinoff and the third season, fans are eager to see how the stories will unfold and how Neagley’s character will be developed further.
