The upcoming film Devara Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva and starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, is poised for a record-breaking box office start in North America. Advance bookings for the film have already amassed nearly USD 800,000, even though the film’s trailer has not yet been released and bookings are not open at AMC, one of the region’s largest movie chains.
With the trailer set to be unveiled tomorrow, it is anticipated that AMC bookings will soon boost sales further. Current trends suggest that Devara Part 1 could potentially achieve a premiere gross exceeding USD 3 million, possibly setting new records. This is particularly noteworthy given that the film does not have the same high-profile appeal or budget as other major releases like RRR or Kalki 2898 AD, which hold the highest premiere records in North America.
Despite skepticism following the disappointing performance of Koratala Siva’s previous film, Acharya, the strong advance bookings for Devara Part 1 offer a promising sign for the film’s success. The film has already secured approximately USD 850,000 in advance bookings in North America.
The film’s teaser and three pre-release songs have been well-received, creating high expectations for the trailer. If the trailer meets the hype, Devara Part 1 could see exceptional box office results. Jr NTR is also set to strengthen his pan-India presence with upcoming projects, including War 2 and NTRNeel (tentatively titled Dragon), along with Devara Part 2.
