Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic film ‘Ramayana’ is moving forward with its star-studded cast. According to exclusive reports, KGF star Yash will begin shooting for the film in December 2024, joining Ranbir Kapoor who has already completed 90% of his work as Lord Ram.
Yash, who will portray the role of Ravana, has undergone several look tests and is excited to take on one of the most complex characters from the Ramayana. He will continue filming ‘Ramayana: Part One’ until the first quarter of 2025, after wrapping up his current project ‘Toxic’ directed by Geethu Mohandas.
Veteran actor Sunny Deol is also set to join the cast, taking on the role of Lord Hanuman from Summer 2025. Deol will start shooting for ‘Ramayana’ after finishing his work on ‘Border 2’. Like Ranbir, Sunny has also allocated bulk dates to directors Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra for his part in the franchise.
In mid-2025, the filmmakers plan to shoot the combination scenes featuring Ranbir Kapoor with Yash and Sunny Deol. The VFX work on ‘Ramayana: Part One’ is currently underway, while the entire shoot is expected to wrap up by August 2025.
The makers are confident about bringing ‘Ramayana’ to the big screen in 2026, leaving no stone unturned to create a film that represents India on a global level. The film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita and Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the iconic TV series ‘Ramayan’, in the role of King Dasharatha.
