Blake Shelton has officially signed with BMG/BBR Music Group, just three weeks after announcing his departure from Warner Music Nashville, where he has been since the early 2000s.
Jon Loba, BMG’s president of frontline recordings for the Americas, expressed excitement about Shelton’s arrival. “Blake is one of the biggest personalities in media,” he stated.
“He has captivated America with timeless songs and live performances. We can’t wait to share his incredible new music. He’s focused on delivering some of the best work of his career.”
Shelton also shared his enthusiasm, thanking BMG’s team for their passion. “I felt their love for music when I met with them, and I knew I was home. I am ready to go!” He joins a notable roster of country artists at BMG, including Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Dustin Lynch. BMG re-entered the country music scene significantly after acquiring BBR Music Group in 2017.
Shelton is set to perform six shows during his Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from February 5 to 15. Following that, he will kick off his “Friends & Heroes Tour” on February 27 in Lexington, Kentucky, featuring opening acts like Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, Trace Adkins, and Emily Ann Roberts.
With 28 No. 1 country singles, Shelton’s journey began in 2001 with Giant Records. After the label closed, Warner Music helped promote his first hit, “Austin,” leading to more than two dozen chart-toppers. His final album with Warner was 2021’s “Body Language.” Additionally, Shelton’s 23 seasons as a coach on “The Voice” solidified his status as a television star.
Currently, Shelton is enjoying success with his collaboration on Post Malone’s “Pour Me a Drink,” which recently reached No. 6 on Billboard’s country airplay chart.
