The sale of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s $68 million mansion in Beverly Hills has encountered a significant setback. After securing a buyer, complications have arisen, leaving the future of the sale uncertain.
Lopez and Affleck listed their marital home for sale in July, shortly before Lopez filed for divorce. The couple recently accepted a $64 million offer for the property. However, the buyers from New Jersey withdrew from the deal due to a family tragedy. Despite this unfortunate event, they remain interested in purchasing the mansion.
Originally bought by Lopez and Affleck in May 2023 for $60.8 million, the estate spans five acres and includes a massive 38,000-square-foot main house with 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. The property also features a separate 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house, and a two-bedroom guardhouse. Additionally, it has a spacious garage that can accommodate 12 cars and parking for up to 80 vehicles.
For recreation, the mansion is equipped with a fully stocked gym, a boxing ring, a sports lounge, and courts for basketball and pickleball. A source revealed that Lopez was not particularly fond of the modern design of the home; she preferred a more romantic, Spanish-European style. However, she agreed to buy it because Affleck liked it and believed it would be suitable for their blended family, which includes their five children from previous relationships.
In the lead-up to Lopez’s divorce filing on August 20, Affleck moved out of their shared home and rented a place in Brentwood to be closer to his children. Amid their public split, he also purchased a $20.5 million mansion in Pacific Palisades. Meanwhile, Lopez is still searching for a new home on the West Coast, as she finds their former residence too filled with memories.
Last month, Lopez was seen visiting a $22 million property in Beverly Hills as she continues her house hunt.
