Rosalía has released a new single titled “Omega,” collaborating with Spanish producer and singer-songwriter Ralphie Choo. Earlier this week, she teased the song with a brief clip from the music video, directed by Stillz, which features the duo enjoying a rollercoaster ride.
It remains uncertain whether “Omega” will be part of Rosalía’s upcoming album, which she confirmed in a recent interview with Highsnobiety. She expressed her ongoing passion for music, saying, “I still have the same questions and the same desire to answer them… I still have the same love for the past and the same curiosity for the future.”
Rosalía has previously shown admiration for Ralphie Choo, as both artists share a similar cultural background and a fluid approach to genre and production. Choo, who is signed to Rusia-IDK (recently partnering with Warner Music), is known for blending flamenco, R&B, hip-hop, and reggaeton. His debut album, “Supernova,” was recognized as one of the best albums of 2023 by Variety.
The upcoming album will be Rosalía’s fourth studio release, following her acclaimed 2022 album “Motomami,” which won Album of the Year at the 23rd Latin Grammy Awards.
“Motomami” also received additional awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album. It garnered nominations for Best Music Film and Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 2023 Grammys.
“Omega” follows Rosalía’s collaboration with Lisa on “New Woman,” co-written by Tove Lo. Last year, she also worked with Björk on the song “Oral.”
The tracklist for “Omega” features 13 songs, including classics reimagined for the soundtrack. The song’s title, “Omega,” symbolizes endings, contrasting with Alpha, which signifies beginnings. This theme resonates with biblical references that highlight its significance.
Fans can look forward to experiencing Rosalía’s latest work as she continues to evolve as an artist while celebrating her cultural roots.
