Kanye West has announced a new album titled Bully during his recent performance at Wuyuan River Stadium in Haikou, China. This follows his earlier release of two collaborative albums, Vultures, with Ty Dolla Sign.
As he wrapped up his show, West informed the audience, “I got a new album coming out. The album’s called Bully, and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast.’” The new track features West singing over a soft instrumental, with lyrics reflecting on personal struggles.
Mike Dean, a longtime collaborator of West, commented on Instagram that “Beauty and the Beast” was originally intended for West’s 2021 album Donda. Alongside this announcement, West also showcased a revised version of “530,” a song from Vultures 2.
After the concert, West shared an image from the event on Instagram with the caption “BULLY.” However, fans are cautious about the album announcement, given West’s history of delays. This year alone, both Vultures albums faced multiple postponements before their eventual releases.
West has a track record of starting projects that often do not come to fruition, dating back to Good Ass Job, which was supposed to follow his first three albums. Other rumored albums like TurboGrafx 16, Yandhi, and Love Everyone never materialized.
This performance in China marks West’s second show this month; he previously performed on September 15, marking his first concert in the country in 16 years. Over the past year, he has held listening parties for the Vultures trilogy in various locations, including South Korea and Salt Lake City. A planned event in Taiwan was canceled shortly before it was set to take place.
As fans await more details about Bully, excitement remains mixed due to West’s unpredictable release patterns. While some are hopeful for a new direction in his music, others remain skeptical based on past experiences with his projects.
