Taylor Swift has reached a new milestone, officially becoming the richest female musician with an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. The pop icon surpassed fellow star Rihanna, whose wealth is valued at $1.4 billion.
Swift’s fortune is largely attributed to her record-breaking Eras Tour, which has generated approximately $600 million in royalties and ticket sales. In addition to the tour, her vast music catalog, estimated to be worth over $600 million, and real estate holdings, valued at around $125 million, have further boosted her wealth.
Last year, Swift made history by becoming the first musician to reach billionaire status solely through her songwriting and performances.
Her financial success has only grown in the past year, as the Eras Tour traveled to 21 cities across Asia, Australia, and Europe, providing significant economic boosts to every stop along the way. In Japan, her four-night performance in Tokyo reportedly added $228 million to the local economy. In Sydney, Australia, she earned approximately $43.3 million from merchandise sales alone. Fans in neighboring countries expressed disappointment as Swift’s exclusive contract with Singapore meant they missed out on the tour’s economic impact.
Swift still has 18 shows left on her two-year tour. The next stop is Miami on October 18, with the tour officially concluding on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
In addition to her musical achievements, Swift was recently ranked fifth on Forbes’ Power Women list, following prominent figures such as Ursula von der Leyen, Christine Lagarde, Kamala Harris, and Giorgia Meloni. She also tied with Spanx founder Sara Blakely for 24th on America’s Self-Made Women list and secured 25th on the Highest-Paid Entertainers list, topped by “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson. Globally, she ranks 2,545th on the billionaires list.
