Taylor Swift has made a significant contribution of $5 million to support relief efforts for communities affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The donation was confirmed by Feeding America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger.
In a statement shared on social media, Feeding America’s CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, expressed gratitude for Swift’s generosity. “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts,” the post read. The organization emphasized that this contribution will help provide essential food, clean water, and supplies to those impacted by the storms.
Swift has a history of charitable giving. In December 2023, she donated $1 million for disaster relief in Tennessee following severe storms.
Additionally, she contributed $100,000 to the family of a woman who tragically lost her life at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade in February 2024.
During her recent “Eras Tour,” Swift also supported local food banks in cities where she performed, including the Edinburgh Food Project and the Arizona Food Bank Network.
Reports indicate that she distributed over $55 million in bonuses to her crew members, which included dancers, sound technicians, and catering staff.
After a brief break, Swift is set to resume her “Eras Tour” later this month. She will perform in cities like Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis before concluding the tour with shows in Toronto and Vancouver.
Meanwhile, Hurricane Milton continues to pose a threat. Once classified as a Category 5 storm with winds exceeding 160 mph, it has since weakened to a Category 3 but remains dangerous. The National Hurricane Center warns that it is still life-threatening, particularly for central and southern Florida.
Meteorologists have labeled Milton as potentially the costliest disaster in Florida’s history, surpassing Hurricane Ian from two years ago.
Veteran meteorologist John Morales noted that Milton has already exceeded Ian’s peak intensity.
Swift’s donation highlights her commitment to helping those in need during challenging times.
