Checka Propper has been appointed as the new head of television at Color Force, the production company known for hit series like Pose and American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.
In her new role, Propper will oversee the company’s television projects and collaborate closely with FX, which has recently extended its exclusive producing deal with Color Force through 2027.
Color Force is also recognized for its work on major films such as The Hunger Games franchise, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
Before joining Color Force, Propper served as executive vice president at David E. Kelley Productions. There, she contributed to the adaptation of Rufi Thorpe’s 2023 novel Margo’s Got Money Troubles for Apple TV+. She began her career at Fox and MTV and later worked as VP of television at Doug Liman’s Hypnotic, where she developed shows like The Recruit, Suits, Pearson, and Nightflyers.
In a joint statement, Color Force co-founders Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson expressed their enthusiasm for Propper’s appointment.
