Kanye West is embroiled in a new legal dispute, this time stemming from allegations made by a former employee. The plaintiff, identified as John Doe, claims that while working for West as his “director of intelligence,” he was instructed to investigate the Kardashian family, including rumored criminal ties.
The lawsuit was filed in a Los Angeles court on October 10. In the complaint, Doe states that he was hired in late 2022 and tasked with conducting various investigations, including those involving individuals who had sued West.
Doe alleges that West directed him to hire private investigators to follow his current wife, Bianca Censori, during her solo trips to Australia, all without her knowledge. West married Censori in December 2022, shortly after finalizing his divorce from Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children: North, 11; Saint, 8; Chicago, 6; and Psalm.
In addition to these allegations, Doe claims that he received a call in May from an employee at Donda Academy—a private school founded by West—which informed him of child abuse incidents that allegedly went unreported. After notifying Yeezy leadership about the situation, Doe claims West threatened him with bodily harm if he disclosed any information regarding the abuse.
The lawsuit details that West allegedly shouted threats at Doe, including “You’re f—— dead to me!” and played recordings of threatening voices. Following these incidents, Doe reports receiving additional threats from West’s associates, which exacerbated his PTSD as a military veteran.
Doe asserts that due to his lawful reporting of these issues and his refusal to engage in unethical behavior, he faced retaliation from West through intimidation and harassment. He claims this led to severe emotional distress and financial harm. The plaintiff is also seeking unpaid wages for work performed on behalf of West and is pursuing punitive damages along with a jury trial.
Representatives for Kanye West and the Kardashian-Jenner family have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the lawsuit.
This legal battle adds to the list of challenges West has faced in recent years, including other lawsuits from former employees and issues surrounding Donda Academy.
