Taylor Swift has made a significant contribution of $5 million to support hurricane relief efforts in Florida, particularly for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This donation comes as Swift prepares to resume her Eras Tour in the state next week.
Feeding America, the non-profit organization receiving the funds, expressed gratitude for Swift’s generosity. CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot stated that the donation will assist communities in rebuilding and recovering by providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to those impacted by the storms. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts in supporting families facing these challenges.
Hurricane Helene has already caused severe destruction, claiming over 230 lives and leaving significant damage across several states.
Hurricane Milton, which recently made landfall in Florida, has also resulted in widespread devastation, with reports of at least 11 fatalities and millions without power.
Swift’s philanthropic history includes previous donations to disaster relief efforts. In December 2023, she donated $1 million to aid victims of tornadoes in Tennessee, her home state.
Additionally, she contributed another $1 million in March 2020 for tornado relief.
As part of her ongoing charitable efforts, Swift has supported food banks in cities where she performed during her Eras Tour. Her contributions have made a notable impact on communities in need.
The pop star’s commitment to philanthropy aligns with similar actions from other celebrities. Country music stars like Dolly Parton and Morgan Wallen have also stepped up to provide aid following these hurricanes, demonstrating a unified effort to help those affected by these natural disasters.
