Scooter Braun has spoken out again regarding his ongoing feud with Taylor Swift over her music rights. This discussion comes after the release of a new documentary titled “Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood,” which aired on Max this summer.
During a recent event in Los Angeles, Braun expressed his desire for both parties to move on from the conflict. “I watched the documentary recently,” Braun said, admitting he hesitated to view it due to concerns it would be biased against him. However, after encouragement from his parents, he decided to watch it.
The feud began in 2019 when Braun’s company, Ithaca Holdings, acquired Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records. This deal included the master rights to Swift’s first six albums, sparking a public dispute that ultimately led Swift to re-record those albums.
The documentary is divided into two episodes: one focusing on Swift’s perspective and the other on Braun’s. While it revisits their past disagreements, Braun noted that it did not reveal any new information.
He reiterated Swift’s claims that she was not consulted before the sale of her masters.
“It’s five years later. I think it’s time for everyone to move on,” Braun stated. He emphasized the importance of direct communication in resolving conflicts, suggesting that discussions should happen privately rather than on social media.
Braun, who is now CEO of HYBE America, also mentioned he has no plans to return to artist management. However, he acknowledged that if he were to manage someone again, it would have to be a major star like Swift.
He praised Swift as an artist worth supporting, citing her determination and impact in the music industry.
