The Environmental Media Association (EMA) has announced its nominees for this year’s awards gala, which will also honor Quinta Brunson, the creator and star of “Abbott Elementary,” for her commitment to environmental causes.
Brunson expressed her gratitude, stating, “I’m truly honored to receive the EMA Futures Award. As someone who deeply cares about the environment, it means a lot to be recognized for using my platform and comedy to inspire change. I’m proud to be part of a community that values sustainability and excited to continue working toward a greener planet.”
The gala will take place on October 26 at the Radford Studio Center in Los Angeles, hosted by Malin Akerman and Dermot Mulroney. The event aims to celebrate achievements in environmental sustainability within the television and film industries. Akerman shared her excitement about hosting, noting that her experience on the EMA Board for over 15 years has influenced her lifestyle choices, particularly regarding sustainability for her family.
Debbie Levin, CEO of EMA, emphasized the importance of the awards ceremony: “The EMA Awards Gala is a time to celebrate environmental achievements in our industry and unite around a shared vision for a sustainable future. As a highly visible industry, our storytelling and production standards can lead other sectors. We are proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the EMA Green Seal this year, which has had a global impact.”
