New Cast Members Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key, and Eric Rahill Join Peacock’s Upcoming Series Based on “The Office”.
The upcoming series at Peacock, which is set in the universe of “The Office,” has recently expanded its cast with four new members: Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Tim Key, and Eric Rahill.
This follows the earlier announcement of cast members including Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young.
Cast And Roles:
Gbemisola Ikumelo: Known for her roles in “Black Ops” and “A League Of Their Own,” she recently won a BAFTA Award for her performance in comedy. Ikumelo will also serve as a writer on the series.
Alex Edelman: An Emmy and Special Tony Award winner for his show “Just For Us,” he will also contribute as a writer.
Tim Key: Recognized for his work in “The Witchfinder” and “This Time with Alan Partridge,” Key joins as a series regular.
Eric Rahill: Known for “Friendship” and “The Bear,” Rahill will appear in a co-star role while also writing for the series.
The new series, often referred to as “The Paper” (though no official title has been confirmed), revolves around a documentary crew searching for a new subject after discovering a struggling historic Midwestern newspaper. The premise aims to capture the same mockumentary style that made the original series popular, but with an entirely new cast and setting.
Production Team:
Greg Daniels, who developed the American version of “The Office,” is co-creating this new project alongside Michael Koman. They are joined by executive producers including Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, creators of the original British version13. The writers’ room was opened in January 2024 to kickstart production on this highly anticipated follow-up to the beloved sitcom, which originally aired from 2005 to 2013.
