Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas have a deep passion for Halloween, as revealed by their mother, Maggie Baird, in a recent interview.
Speaking to People on October 8 at the Paradise Club in New York City, Baird shared fond memories of how her children celebrated the holiday during their childhood.
Baird, 65, described her kids as “obsessed” with Halloween. She reminisced about the family’s tradition of hosting large Halloween parties at their home in Highland Park, Los Angeles. The garage was transformed into a haunted house, complete with “gooey-feely boxes” for guests to explore. The family also enjoyed donuts from a local plant-based shop called Donut Friend, which was a staple at their Halloween gatherings. “Haunted houses and Halloween parties were a big part of their childhood,” she said.
At the event, Baird was honored as part of Glamour’s Women of the Year: The Moms issue, which was released on October 3. She appeared on the cover alongside notable figures like Donna Kelce, Mandy Teefey, and Tina Knowles. Baird expressed her surprise when Eilish and Finneas sent her flowers to celebrate her recognition, noting that she had not informed them about it. “I’m a little bit quiet about these kinds of things,” she admitted.
Baird also discussed her comfort zone, stating that she feels happiest when delivering food and advocating for climate issues. In 2020, she founded Support + Feed to address food scarcity and climate change.
For the event, she wore sustainable fashion designed by SUAY, which uses recycled materials to create its clothing.
