Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly turned down an invitation from the Duke’s uncle, Charles Spencer, to celebrate Christmas at Althorp this year. The couple’s decision stems from security concerns regarding their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to an insider, “Harry and Meghan are not going to spend Christmas with the Spencers or the Royal Family this year.” The source added, “It’s just not an option with the children at the moment due to what’s been going on with their security.”
This news follows Prince Harry’s recent comments about the dangers of bringing his wife back to the UK. During an interview on ITV’s “Tabloids on Trial,” he expressed his concerns, stating, “It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read… these are things that are of genuine concern for me.” He emphasized that these fears are part of why he won’t bring Meghan back to the UK.
The couple’s ongoing security issues have influenced their travel plans and made it difficult for them to visit the UK safely with their children.
Prince Harry has been vocal about feeling unsafe without proper security measures in place. He has launched multiple lawsuits regarding his family’s security protection since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Prince Harry’s legal battles have included efforts to have police protection reinstated for himself and his family. After losing automatic police security when he stepped down as a senior royal, he has argued that his current threat level warrants protection.
Despite these challenges, Prince Harry remains committed to ensuring his family’s safety while navigating complex relationships with both the royal family and the media.
