Buffalo 8 has acquired the worldwide distribution rights for the upcoming holiday horror thriller Final Recovery.
The film comes from the creators of the award-winning series Kombucha Cure and features character actor Jasper Cole in his first lead role. Cole has over 120 film and television credits spanning four decades, including roles in Fall and MacGruber.
Final Recovery is set in an addiction recovery facility called Sage, located in Southeast Michigan. The facility prioritizes profits over healing. Louise “Nanny Lou” Stamey, who owns and runs the center, is viewed by the community as a saint. However, the truth about her operations is much darker. The plot thickens when patients Rodney and Dustin start to question Nanny Lou’s true motives, leading to unsettling discoveries.
The cast includes Charlene Tilton from Dallas, Richard Tyson of Black Hawk Down, Michael Emery from Stranger Things, Cherish Lee of American History X, Damian Chinappi from The Girl in the Attic, and Kaiti Wallen from Ash and Bone. Notably, Cherish Lee, Tilton’s daughter, collaborates with her mother onscreen for the first time and has also contributed several original songs to the film.
The film is directed by Harley Wallen, known for Beneath Us All and Ash and Bone. The script is penned by novelist Jerry Lee Davis, recognized for Twin Cities and Running Through A Koga Field, along with three-time Emmy nominee Nick Theurer, known for Slap Face and The Bay.
Based in Santa Monica, Buffalo 8 is a full-service film and media company specializing in production, post-production, finance, and distribution. The company aims to make film distribution more transparent and accessible by helping filmmakers reach global audiences through innovative marketing strategies and direct deals with streaming platforms, networks, and international partners.
