Apple TV+ has released the trailer for the highly anticipated second season of “Silo,” based on Hugh Howey’s dystopian sci-fi trilogy. The new season will premiere on November 15, with fresh episodes dropping every Friday until January 17.
The series follows the last ten thousand people on Earth who reside in a mile-deep underground silo. This structure protects them from the toxic world outside, but its origins remain a mystery. Those who attempt to uncover the truth about the silo often face deadly consequences. In Season 2, Rebecca Ferguson reprises her role as Juliette, an engineer investigating the murder of a loved one. Her quest leads her to a mystery much larger than she anticipated, revealing that sometimes the truth can be more dangerous than the lies.
Joining Ferguson in the Season 2 cast are Steve Zahn, Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen.
“Silo” is produced by Apple Studios, with executive producers including series creator and showrunner Graham Yost, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Ferguson, Morten Tyldum, Howey, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon, and AMC Studios.
In other news, Point Road Productions announced that its documentary “The Last Amateur,” formerly titled “Nothing But Net,” will premiere at Doc LA on October 19.
The film features NBA star Kevin Garnett and college basketball analyst Jay Bilas as they explore the story of Silvio De Sousa, a five-star recruit from the University of Kansas. The documentary highlights De Sousa’s experiences as a Black foreign athlete navigating the NCAA and the U.S. justice system. He was the last NCAA athlete penalized for accepting money from Adidas before the implementation of the Name, Image, and Likeness policy. Following an FBI investigation into this “pay for play” situation, De Sousa faced public scrutiny and worked to clear his name while pursuing his passion for basketball.
Billy Raftery serves as the director, writer, cinematographer, and producer of the documentary, with Garnett and others as executive producers, including John Sloss, Marc Levin, Mike Marangu, Todd Stiefel, Taylor Materne, Josh Foster, Anthony Killough, and Reuben Schatz.
