Diana Ross, the iconic singer and actress, is set to perform at amfAR’s first-ever Las Vegas gala on November 22. The event will celebrate the achievements of Oscar-winning actor Sylvester Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Stallone, who will be honored for their philanthropic efforts.
The Stallones will receive amfAR’s Award of Inspiration, recognizing their support for the organization’s mission and their dedication to other causes related to health, education, and women’s rights. Previous recipients of this prestigious award include well-known figures such as Richard Gere, Ava DuVernay, Cher, Miley Cyrus, and Charlize Theron.
“AmfAR is thrilled to be bringing this signature fundraising gala to Las Vegas,” said amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost in a statement released Tuesday. “We are deeply grateful to our performers, honorees, and sponsors, and to the Wynn for hosting this event and for recognizing the importance of amfAR’s lifesaving work.”
The gala will coincide with the race weekend at Wynn Las Vegas and will feature a seated dinner along with a live auction. Attendees can bid on contemporary art and exclusive luxury experiences. The event will take place at the Event Pavilion at The Wynn Casino, with Wynn Las Vegas serving as the official hotel partner.
Diana Ross’s appearance at the amfAR gala follows her recent performance at “Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central” in June. Variety’s Caryn Rose praised Ross’s opening act, writing, “When your all-star Detroit concert opens with none other than Miss Diana Ross gliding down the stage catwalk in an enormous cloud of orange chiffon singing ‘I’m Coming Out,’ you are setting the bar high from the jump.”
The amfAR Las Vegas gala aims to raise funds to support the organization’s ongoing efforts in HIV research and awareness, further strengthening its mission to find a cure.
