Amazon Prime Video has announced the renewal of The Legend of Vox Machina for a fourth season. This news comes just before the third season finale, which will be available on October 24.
Executive producer Sam Riegel expressed excitement about the renewal, stating, “We are beyond thrilled – and grateful – to continue the epic and wild adventures of Vex, Vax, Keyleth, Percy, Pike, Grog, and everyone’s favorite character – Scanlan.” He added that each season elevates the show and that they have significant plans to enhance both heroes and villains in Season 4.
Season 3 follows the Chroma Conclave as they wreak havoc while the Cinder King pursues Vox Machina. The team must confront their inner demons and external threats to protect their loved ones and the world of Exandria. Viewers can catch the final episodes this week on Prime Video.
The series features voice actors from Critical Role, including Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham. All cast members also serve as executive producers alongside Brandon Auman, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina. The show is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role/Metapigeon Studios, and Titmouse.
Melissa Wolfe, head of animation at Amazon MGM Studios, praised the Critical Role team for delivering captivating seasons. She noted that the global audience on Prime Video has embraced the series from its inception.
The Legend of Vox Machina is based on a popular Dungeons & Dragons Twitch stream featuring eight voice actors playing live. The animated series broke Kickstarter records in 2019 with $11.3 million in funding.
As Season 3 wraps up, fans can look forward to more adventures in Season 4. The upcoming season promises to delve into darker themes and challenges for the characters if it stays true to its original campaign.
