On Halloween night, the celebrities of “Dancing With the Stars” faced their fears in performances inspired by their biggest nightmares. From snakes to vampires, each routine showcased the contestants’ creativity and determination, but the fear of elimination loomed large.
Daniella Karagach and her partner, Dwight Howard, delivered a haunting contemporary dance to “Ring Around the Rosie,” aiming to complete a flawless performance. Their efforts paid off, earning them the season’s first perfect score of 10 from judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Both dancers were emotional after their routine, reflecting on the challenges they had overcome.
Carrie Ann awarded another perfect score to Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, as well as to Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, and Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold. While judges Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli primarily used their 9 paddles, Bruno did give Joey and Jenna a 10, elevating them on the leaderboard.
Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong closed the night with a Viennese Waltz. Although they had immunity from last week’s dance-offs, Chandler felt uncertain after Carrie Ann critiqued their performance. However, the duo received a 9 from Carrie Ann and 10s from both Bruno and Derek, marking Derek’s first perfect score of the season.
Following the individual dances, the competition continued with three dance-offs. Dwight and Daniella triumphed over Ilona and Alan with a cha cha to “Ghostbusters.” Jenn and Sasha beat Stephen and Rylee in a salsa to “Jump In the Line,” while Joey and Jenna’s jive to “Time Warp” secured their victory against Danny and Witney.
At the end of the night, Chandler and Joey were tied at the top of the leaderboard, while Ilona found herself in last place. After tallying the judges’ scores and audience votes, Jenn and Sasha were unexpectedly eliminated.
Next week, there will be no new episode of “Dancing With the Stars” due to Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
