Several high-profile musicians and celebrities will join Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday night in Philadelphia for a rally and concert aimed at energizing voters just ahead of Election Day.
The Harris campaign announced that the vice president will be joined by a star-studded lineup, including Lady Gaga, DJ Cassidy, Fat Joe, Freeway, Just Blaze, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Ricky Martin, The Roots, Jazmine Sullivan, Adam Blackstone, and media mogul Oprah Winfrey. DJ Jazzy Jeff, Fat Joe, and Oprah are scheduled to speak at the event, according to the rally’s official website.
The event will take place at the base of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The museum will be closed on Monday for the event, a spokesperson confirmed to CBS News Philadelphia.
This concert and rally mark the final push of the campaign’s “Get Out the Vote” efforts, designed to mobilize voters before Election Day on Tuesday. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will also join Vice President Harris in Philadelphia. Earlier in the day, the two will attend another “Get Out the Vote” event in Pittsburgh, featuring performances by Katy Perry, Andra Day, and D-Nice.
“These artists and public figures are trusted voices for millions of Americans, whether through their music, social media presence, or personal influence,” the campaign said in a statement. “By having these influential figures speak at rallies and highlight the stakes of the 2024 election, we aim to inspire their fans to get out and vote.”
The rallies and concerts are part of a nationwide series of events being held in key battleground states in the lead-up to Election Day. The campaign also plans to showcase the events through a national livestream, which will feature performances, speeches, and coverage of rallies from all seven battleground states.
