Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for the second season of The Night Agent. The action-packed thriller will return to the streaming platform on January 23, 2025, with all episodes dropping at once.
Season 1, which premiered in 2023, quickly became a global hit. It was the most-watched show of the year by view hours, earning 98.2 million total views, making it the seventh most-watched English-language series in Netflix history.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent follows FBI Agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso). After saving the President in the first season, Peter is offered a new role as a Night Agent. Season 2 will see him thrust into the dangerous world of Night Action, a covert organization where betrayal and risk lurk around every corner.
Joining Basso in the upcoming season are Luciane Buchanan, Amanda Warren, Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, Berto Colon, Michael Malarkey, Keon Alexander, Brittany Snow, Teddy Sears, Navid Negahban, and Rob Heaps.
Shawn Ryan, who developed the series, will return as showrunner and executive producer through his company, MiddKid Productions. The executive production team also includes Marney Hochman (MiddKid Productions), Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn (Exhibit A), and several others from Project X and Sunset Lane Media. Sony Pictures Television produces the series.
