Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have achieved a significant milestone with their ballad “Die With a Smile,” which has become the fastest song to reach one billion streams on Spotify. Released as a standalone single in August 2024, the track debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has shown impressive longevity.
Since its release, “Die With a Smile” has been performed live multiple times, including its debut at Mars’s concert for the opening of Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome. The duo also performed the song during Mars’s concert residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas. The song’s popularity has led to nominations for “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” at the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards.
As “Die With a Smile” continues to gain traction, Lady Gaga is also focusing on her music career. She is set to release her seventh album in February 2025, with the lead single “Disease” already available. This single features a dark pop sound accompanied by a horror-themed music video. Additionally, Gaga recently released “Harlequin,” an album of covers linked to her role in the film “Joker: Folie à Deux.”
Bruno Mars is also active in the music scene, collaborating with Rosé on the track “Apt,” which surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify within its first week of release last month.
