Sylvester Stallone is close to finalizing a deal for at least two more seasons of the Paramount+ series Tulsa King, according to sources confirmed by Variety. Stallone, who stars as the lead character and serves as an executive producer, is expected to pave the way for a two-season renewal for Seasons 3 and 4. However, it is important to note that the show has not yet been officially renewed.
Representatives for Paramount declined to comment on the matter.
Tulsa King follows Dwight “The General” Manfredi, played by Stallone, who is released from prison after 25 years. After his release, he is exiled by his boss to Tulsa, Oklahoma. There, he realizes that his mob family may not have his best interests at heart. To establish a new criminal empire in this unfamiliar territory, Dwight begins to build a crew from a group of unlikely characters.
The cast also features Jay Will, Max Casella, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Garrett Hedlund, Vincent Piazza, Dana Delany, and Annabella Sciorra. Neal McDonough and Frank Grillo joined the cast in the second season.
Created by Taylor Sheridan, known for Yellowstone, Tulsa King marks Stallone’s first regular role on television. The series debuted successfully in 2022 and has received even greater acclaim with its second season, which launched in September and currently holds a perfect 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In addition to Sheridan and Stallone, other executive producers include Terence Winter, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood. The show is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
Deadline was the first to report on Stallone’s impending deal for the new seasons.
