Isabel May will play the daughter of Neve Campbell’s character, Sidney Prescott, in the upcoming film Scream 7, as confirmed by Variety. May is known for her roles in the Yellowstone prequels 1883 and 1923.
Campbell returns to the horror franchise after missing the sixth film due to a salary dispute. The seventh installment will be directed by Kevin Williamson, the creator and writer of the original Scream series.
Guy Busick, who wrote the scripts for the fifth and sixth films, is also involved in writing Scream 7.
The film is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, after facing several challenges, including production delays and changes in the cast. In 2023, Melissa Barrera was fired from the sequel over comments she made regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict. Jenna Ortega, who co-starred with Barrera, had to exit due to scheduling conflicts with Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday. Additionally, director Christopher Landon left the project in December 2023, describing it as “a dream job that turned into a nightmare.” Production was further delayed by last year’s SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
Paramount Pictures will distribute Scream 7, which is being produced by Spyglass Media. Project X Entertainment’s James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein are producing, with Radio Silence serving as executive producers.
In addition to her work in 1883 and 1923, Isabel May also starred as Katie Cooper in the Netflix sitcom Alexa & Katie. She is represented by CAA and Principal Entertainment.
