Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, marking the reggaeton star’s fourth album to reach this milestone. The 17-track album made an impressive rise, securing the top position by a narrow margin of just 1,000 units over Taylor Swift’s Lover (Live From Paris) vinyl reissue. Swift’s reissue, released through her webstore on January 7, included a limited-edition vinyl and was also made available as a digital download for the first time.
The tracking week ending on January 16 saw Debí Tirar Más Fotos garner 203,500 units, while Swift’s Lover (Live From Paris), which reentered the chart with 202,500 units, benefitted largely from 161,000 vinyl sales. The vinyl’s reissue helped Swift’s album surpass its previous peak of No. 58, making it the highest-charting live album in over five years. It also recorded the largest vinyl sales week for a live album since Luminate began tracking in 1991.
The battle for the top spot was close. Last week, Debí Tirar Más Fotos debuted at No. 2 despite only five days of availability, as Billboard’s data partner, Luminate, tracks activity from Friday through Thursday.
The album, which launched on January 5, surged this week, largely due to an outstanding 264 million streams in its first full week. However, traditional sales for Bad Bunny’s album were relatively modest, with under 8,000 units sold.
In contrast, Swift’s Lover: Live From Paris was available exclusively in vinyl and digital download formats. The limited availability sparked high demand, with Swift’s vinyl selling out quickly. After its initial drop in February 2023, the vinyl editions were resold for over $1,000 on secondary markets.
Apart from the competition between Swift and Bad Bunny, this week’s Billboard 200 shows no new entries in the Top 10. SZA’s SOS remains at No. 3, followed by Kendrick Lamar’s GNX at No. 4. Lil Baby’s Wham drops to No. 5 after a week at No. 1. Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet holds steady at No. 6, while Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft stays at No. 7. Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time comes in at No. 9, and Gracie Abrams’ The Secret of Us rounds out the top 10 at No. 10.
