The Weeknd has announced that his new album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” will be released on January 24, 2025. Following the album’s launch, he will perform a special one-night concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 25, 2025. The concert will feature a stage that spans the entire stadium floor.
This album is the final installment in a trilogy that includes his previous works, “After Hours” and “Dawn FM.” The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has made history as the first artist to achieve over one billion streams on 22 different songs on Spotify.
The Canadian singer first hinted at the new album on September 4, 2024, when he shared the vinyl cover for “Hurry Up Tomorrow.” Just days later, he released the album’s first single, “Dancing In Flames.” He also collaborated with Brazilian pop star Anitta on a song titled “São Paulo,” which was released on October 30, 2024. Additionally, The Weeknd held a one-night concert in São Paulo to celebrate the album announcement.
A feature film titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow” is also in development. The film will star The Weeknd alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. It is set to be distributed by Lionsgate and directed by Trey Edward Shults, known for his work on “Waves.” The film will be a musically driven psychological thriller with a score created by Tesfaye and composer Daniel Lopatin.
The Weeknd’s previous album, “Dawn FM,” featured collaborations with artists such as Tyler, the Creator and Lil Wayne. He also worked with Ariana Grande on a remixed version of his hit single “Save Your Tears” from his earlier album, “After Hours.”
Tickets for the Rose Bowl concert will go on sale on December 2, 2024, at 10 a.m. PT.
