EO Media, led by Eze Olzanski and based in Buenos Aires, has confirmed that the Argentine-Brazilian series Sumergidos will debut on A&E Latin America on January 27. The announcement comes as the company prepares for Content Americas.
This release follows a series of successful deals that EO Media secured at MIP Cancun, where it partnered with major networks and distributors, including Paramount, NBC Universal, Globo, and MVS. The company also signed free-to-air television agreements in Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Mexico, Brazil, and Uruguay, as well as inflight distribution deals for several of its films.
Sumergidos joins A&E’s growing lineup of crime dramas, which includes popular series like Narcos, Narcos: Mexico, El Chapo, Rosario Tijeras, El Patrón del Mal, and Sobreviviendo a Escobar: Alias JJ. EO Media’s Olzanski reflected on the success of earlier series, noting that when they sold Narcos, Narcos: Mexico, and El Chapo to A&E, many doubted that they could thrive on both pay TV networks and Netflix. However, they proved their success.
This marks the series’ first pan-Latin American pay TV premiere. Sumergidos previously aired in Brazil on Paramount Channel and in Argentina on TV Publica in 2022. Directed by Argentine filmmakers Claudio Rosa and Pablo Brasa, along with Brazilian director Marcia Paraíso, the 13-episode crime thriller is set in Florianópolis, Brazil, and Córdoba, Argentina. The plot centers on the intersection of surfing, drug trafficking, and politics, with scripts by Rosa, Glauco Broering, and Brusa.
Co-produced by Jaque Content, Prisma Films, Bonaparte, Story Lab, and Plural Filmes, Sumergidos features over 60 actors, including Argentina’s Mariano Bertolini, Liz Solari, Jorge Marrale, and Juan Gil Navarro, alongside Brazilian talents Cassio Nascimento, Zé Carlos Machado, Ana Cecilia Costa, and Guilherme Weber. The series also highlights new talent like Lucas Heymanns, who plays Gordo, a drug trafficker, and a breakout character. Renowned surfer José Francisco Filho, known as Fininho, serves as a stunt double for the main character.
At Content Americas 2025, EO Media will present a diverse catalog of more than 250 films and series. This includes notable titles like Arthur’s Whisky (starring Diane Keaton), A Little White Lie (with Michael Shannon and Kate Hudson), Sunrise (starring Guy Pearce), and Clear Cut (featuring Alec Baldwin). The company also co-produced Ringo: Glory & Death for Star+ and Cris Miró (Ella) for WBD/TNT & Flow, and is working on several new projects across Latin America, France, the UK, and the U.S. Among these is the upcoming series Punta Blanca, a collaboration with Uruguay’s El Camino Films, starring Natalia Oreiro.
