HBO has announced that the third season of “White Lotus” will premiere in February 2025. This update was shared by JB Perrette, the global streaming chief at Warner Bros. Discovery, during a tech and media conference hosted by Wells Fargo.
In addition to the “White Lotus” news, Perrette revealed other upcoming HBO projects. “The Last of Us” Season 2 is set to debut in spring 2025, while the prequel “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is expected to launch in late 2025. The highly anticipated third season of “Euphoria” is slated for a 2026 release.
Perrette also provided an update on HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” television series. Initially targeting a 2026 launch, the series is now expected to premiere in 2027. Perrette expressed excitement about this long-term project, stating it marks the beginning of a ten-year journey for the franchise.
Furthermore, Perrette announced that HBO’s streaming service, Max, will begin enforcing measures against password sharing this month.
He described the process as both an art and a science, aiming to differentiate between legitimate users and those sharing accounts.
Starting in the first quarter of next year, Max will offer users an option to add members to their accounts. As data is collected, the service plans to tighten its filters throughout 2025.
Currently, Max offers an ad-free subscription at $16.99 per month, with lower-priced options available. Perrette indicated that prices may increase in the future as they aim to position Max as a premium content provider.
