Indian actress Triptii Dimri has clinched the top spot on IMDb’s 2024 list of the Most Popular Indian Stars, with Deepika Padukone securing second place. This annual ranking, based on actual page views from IMDb’s 250 million monthly users worldwide, highlights both established stars and rising talents in the Indian film industry.
Dimri’s rise to No. 1 comes after her successful year, featuring roles in three major films: Bad Newz, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
“I am truly honored to be ranked No. 1 on IMDb’s Most Popular Indian Stars of 2024 list,” Dimri said in a statement. “This recognition reflects the amazing support from my fans and the hard work of everyone I’ve worked with.”
Veteran actress Deepika Padukone, who remains a strong presence in the industry, earned the second spot, maintaining significant viewer interest through three major releases: Kalki 2898 AD (her debut in Telugu cinema), Fighter, and Singham Again.
Ishaan Khatter ranked third, boosted by his role in the international series The Perfect Couple, where he starred alongside Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber.
The top 10 list also reveals notable shifts within India’s entertainment landscape. Actress Sobhita Dhulipala, in fifth place, made her Hollywood debut in Monkey Man and contributed to dubbing for Padukone’s Telugu dialogues in Kalki 2898 AD. Sharvari, who claimed sixth place, had three notable releases this year: Munjya, Maharaj, and Vedaa. She also won IMDb’s “Breakout Star” STARmeter Award.
Alia Bhatt, ranked ninth, continues to be a significant figure in Indian cinema. She produced and starred in Jigra and made her debut at Paris Fashion Week.
The rest of the top 10 includes Shah Rukh Khan (No. 4), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (No. 7), Samantha (No. 8), and Prabhas (No. 10).
