Taylor Swift concluded her record-breaking “Eras Tour” with a final performance in Vancouver, British Columbia, on December 8. The tour, which spanned nearly 18 months and included 149 shows, made history as the first tour ever to gross over $2 billion in ticket sales.
In 2023, Swift became a billionaire, and her wealth surged further following the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April 2024. Her net worth reached $1.6 billion, surpassing Rihanna to become the wealthiest female musician in history.
Recently, a photo emerged revealing that Swift gave a $100,000 bonus to one of her crew members. The handwritten note from Swift, addressed to Robert, read: “Thank you for your superb work on the U.S. leg of The Eras Tour!! Your well-deserved bonus is $100,000. Love, Taylor.”
Fans praised Swift’s generosity, with one commenting, “That’s so awesome. They deserved it.” Another fan noted, “Taylor Swift out here treating her crew better than most CEOs! Imagine getting a handwritten note and a life-changing bonus? Taylor really is the CEO of Kindness™.”
Mike Scherkenbach, CEO of Shomotion, a company that helped transport the “Eras” tour equipment, shared an insightful story with USA Today in August 2023. He recalled a meeting that initially seemed like a routine production update. Instead, it turned into a moment of appreciation when Swift’s father, Scott Swift, surprised the crew with the bonus announcement.
“Scott gave a short speech and expressed how much he appreciated the service the team had provided during the tour,” Scherkenbach said. “They’d been away from their families for 24 weeks.”
The crew was initially unsure about the bonus amount. Some drivers misread the letter, thinking the bonus was $1,000 or $10,000. However, when one crew member noticed the $100,000 amount, the others quickly revisited their letters in disbelief.
This act of generosity is just one of many that has earned Swift a reputation for caring deeply for her team.
