Nate Moore, a longtime producer at Marvel Studios, is leaving the company after 14 years to pursue independent producing opportunities. Moore, who has played a significant role in films like Black Panther, Eternals, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, will continue his involvement in the Marvel universe, remaining part of the producing team for Black Panther 3. Ryan Coogler is expected to return as director for the sequel.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and co-president Louis D’Esposito expressed their gratitude for Moore’s contributions in a statement: “Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague, as well as a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios. He has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to resonate in our storytelling. While we will miss him, we look forward to seeing what he does next and are excited to work with him in a new capacity on Black Panther 3.”
Moore’s journey in Hollywood began at Participant Media before joining Marvel Studios in its early days, when the company had only released Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk. He played an integral role in developing the screenplay for Guardians of the Galaxy and served as a co-producer and executive producer for Captain America: Civil War in 2016. As an executive producer on Black Panther (2018), Moore was a key creative force behind the film’s success.
Reflecting on his time at Marvel, Moore said, “Nearly everything I know about producing, I’ve learned from my time at Marvel Studios. I feel lucky to have worked with people who are as passionate about filmmaking and storytelling as I am. I’m excited to apply my experience to a variety of new theatrical projects, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”
Moore will remain at Marvel Studios until March, after the release of Captain America: Brave New World. The film, which picks up after the events of the 2021 Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, was executive produced by Moore.
