Bad Bunny is starting the new year with exciting news for fans. The Grammy-winning artist confirmed Thursday that his highly anticipated album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos (“I Should’ve Taken More Photos”), will be released on January 5, 2025.
The announcement came alongside a video trailer, which offered a glimpse into the album’s themes.
The trailer opens with a wide shot of an isolated house in Puerto Rico, suggesting a futuristic setting. An older man, who resides in the home, reflects on his past, lamenting that he “wasn’t the type of person to take photos or upload stories” as a younger man. He shares his memories with an animated companion, Concho, reminiscing about the many beautiful people and places he encountered, but emphasizing that none compared to Puerto Rico. The man expands on the theme of cherishing love throughout life, with Concho responding, “That’s why I love you so much.”
As the trailer ends, a dark screen fades to reveal the album’s title and its release date. This will be Bad Bunny’s ninth studio album. He first teased the project on December 25 through social media, revealing that it will contain 17 tracks.
The titles of the songs were hidden, marked only as “Bomba” or “Explosive.”
Along with the trailer, Bad Bunny released a new single, “Pitorro De Coco,” named after Puerto Rican moonshine rum. Prior to this, he dropped “El Clúb,” a track co-produced by MAG, Saox, and La Paciencia. The song blends EDM with plena, a traditional Afro-Caribbean style from Puerto Rico, and touches on themes of nostalgia and lost love. In the song, Bad Bunny raps about missing his ex, wondering how she’s doing while he’s left reminiscing.
Although Bad Bunny has kept a low profile in terms of solo releases this year, he has still made an impact with a few collaborations. These include tracks with Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro, as well as his politically charged single “Una Velita” (“A Candle”), which marked the seven-year anniversary of Hurricane Maria and sent a message to Puerto Rico.
