While Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas event has wrapped up, the network is kicking off a new year with exciting premieres. This week marks the debut of two highly anticipated series, a fresh dating reality show, and the start of Hallmark’s Winter Escape films for January.
Hallmark Channel Premieres This Week
The Hallmark Channel has a busy start to January, with three major premieres lined up for the first week of 2025.
‘The Way Home’ Season 3 Premiere – Friday, January 3 at 9 p.m. ET
Season 3 of The Way Home is moving to Friday nights this year, with the first episode premiering on January 3 at 9 p.m. ET (one hour later than the usual time for Hallmark’s Winter Escape films on Saturdays). Initially, Hallmark had planned to release the new season exclusively on Hallmark+, with episodes coming to the Hallmark Channel later in the fall. However, after fan feedback, the network decided to air new episodes on Friday nights this January.
The premiere episode, titled You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet, is centered on new mysteries that span across generations. The Landry family digs into their past to uncover the truth.
‘Love of the Irish’ – Saturday, January 4 at 8 p.m. ET
This movie, starring Shenae Grimes-Beech, Stephen Hagan, and Moira Kelly, is the first in Hallmark’s Winter Escape film series for January. Grimes-Beech, known for Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas, returns to Hallmark in this charming story. The film follows Fiona, who, tired of her bad luck, takes her mom on a trip to Ireland. There, she meets a charming single dad who helps her turn her luck around.
‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 12 Premiere – Sunday, January 5 at 9 p.m. ET
The 12th season of When Calls the Heart begins earlier than previous seasons, airing on Sunday, January 5 at 9 p.m. ET. The season promises more drama and romance as Elizabeth receives a sentimental surprise for Little Jack’s first day of school, and Mountie Nathan trains a new cadet. Meanwhile, Rosemary and Lee make a significant decision.
The season’s synopsis teases a focus on the blossoming romance between Elizabeth and Nathan, alongside an investigation into a train robbery led by Rosemary and Bill Avery. Fans can also expect plenty of community support, dancing, and heartfelt moments throughout the season. The premiere episode is titled The Mountie Way.

‘Small Town Setup’ Premiere – Thursday, January 2
Small Town Setup, a dating reality show hosted by Ashley Williams, debuts its first episode on January 2. In the series, a city-dwelling single returns to their small-town roots to meet three potential suitors, handpicked by their parents and neighbors in the hopes of sparking a romance. The first episode features Victoria, a successful VP who has yet to find love. Her Italian-Puerto Rican family enlists the help of Peachtree City to find her Mr. Right.
Other Premieres on Hallmark+
Starting January 4, Hallmark+ will stream new episodes of The Way Home season 3 every Saturday, one day after they air on the Hallmark Channel. Similarly, new episodes of When Calls the Heart will be available for streaming on Mondays, beginning January 6, the day after their Hallmark Channel premiere.
