Nam Da Reum has been confirmed to portray the younger version of Song Joong Ki in the upcoming JTBC romance drama MY YOUTH, slated for release in 2025.
As reported on January 14, the Start Up actor will play the childhood counterpart of Song Joong Ki’s character, Sunwoo Hae. In the drama, Sunwoo Hae is a promising young actor whose career is derailed due to the greed of the adults around him. Eventually, he leaves the entertainment industry behind to lead a quieter, more ordinary life.
Nam Da Reum’s agency, BAA, confirmed his casting in the series, which focuses on the contrasting paths of the two actors portraying Sunwoo Hae at different stages in his life. The story will follow his journey from a hopeful child artist to a disillusioned adult who gives up acting and becomes a florist and novelist.
Seong Je Yeon (played by Chun Woo Hee), Sunwoo Hae’s first love, plays a pivotal role in the narrative. She helps him through the struggles of his past, and he, in turn, supports her during a difficult period.
After a decade apart, the two reunite, reconnecting with their long-lost innocence and the simpler, happier times they once shared.
In her professional life, Seong Je Yeon works as a team leader at an entertainment company. Initially comfortable due to her wealthy family background, her life takes a turn after her family faces financial ruin.
She now dedicates herself to building a successful career.
MY YOUTH explores the characters’ journeys of healing and self-discovery as they reunite, reflecting on how far they’ve come and the lessons they’ve learned. Directed by Lee Sang Yeob and written by Park Si Hyun, known for the hit drama Run On, the 10-episode series will offer a heartfelt look at life’s challenges, set to air as a Saturday-Sunday drama.
