A24 is preparing to release Eddington, the latest film from director Ari Aster, known for his previous works Hereditary, Midsommar, and Beau Is Afraid. The film is set to debut at the European Film Market in Berlin this month, with a target release date during the summer.
Eddington is described as a contemporary western and is currently in post-production. The film follows a couple who become stranded in a small town in New Mexico. Initially welcomed by the locals, they soon find themselves in a more sinister situation as night falls. Joaquin Phoenix stars as the town’s sheriff, who has ambitious dreams.
The cast also includes notable actors such as Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Austin Butler, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr. Aster not only directed but also wrote the screenplay for the film.
Production for Eddington began in March 2024, and it marks Aster’s continued collaboration with A24. The film is expected to be a unique addition to Aster’s body of work, which has garnered a dedicated fan base due to its distinctive storytelling style.
