Matt Hastings, a writer, director, and executive producer known for his work on “Shadowhunters” and “The Originals,” has signed with the Gersh agency. He will continue to be represented by attorney Bob Getman and The Gotham Group.
This announcement coincides with the premiere of Hastings’ new series, “Fallen,” on Sundance Now and AMC+7. “Fallen” is based on Lauren Kate’s book series of the same name. Hastings directed the pilot episode and served as showrunner and executive producer for the international co-production.
Hastings is a two-time Emmy nominee. He was a co-executive producer and writer for “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which received a nomination for best drama series. He also received a Children & Family Emmy Award nomination for directing “Circuit Breakers”.
His other credits include executive producing “Shadowhunters” and co-executive producing “The Originals,” “Reign,” “Eureka,” and “Alphas”. He has also directed episodes of “Shadowhunters,” “The Originals,” “Reign,” “Eureka,” “Warehouse 13,” and “The Outer Limits”.
Hastings is also developing series with Netflix, Sony, Lionsgate and other companies. He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada and is working to put together international co-productions.
