Cynthia Erivo will be honored with the prestigious Stephen F. Kolzak Award at the upcoming 36th annual GLAAD Media Awards.
The Stephen F. Kolzak Award recognizes LGBTQ+ media professionals who have made significant contributions to the representation of queer individuals and stories. Previous honorees include Jeremy Pope, Laverne Cox, Wanda Sykes, Jim Parsons, and Melissa Etheridge. Erivo, who earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in Wicked and won a Tony Award in 2016 for The Color Purple, continues to be a powerful advocate for marginalized communities.
GLAAD president and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis, praised Erivo for her ongoing commitment to supporting Black, queer, and other underrepresented groups. “Her legacy isn’t just defined by accolades but by how she consistently shows up for others with each milestone in her career,” Ellis said. “Erivo’s dedication to being authentic and intersectional is unwavering, and it is an honor to present her with this year’s Stephen F. Kolzak Award.”
Tribeca Film Festival Announces 2025 Lineup
Tribeca Film Festival has unveiled several exciting titles for its 2025 lineup, including The Alto Knights, starring Robert De Niro and Barry Levinson, and Bob Trevino Likes It, featuring Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo. Other major screenings include the Paramount+ original series Happy Face with Annaleigh Ashford, and Max’s horror comedy The Parenting.
Tribeca Membership also hosted a special retrospective screening of Peter Bogdanovich’s 2014 film She’s Funny That Way, featuring Kathryn Hahn, Owen Wilson, and Jennifer Aniston.

Allison Janney to Receive Distinguished Artisan Award from MUAHS
Allison Janney will be honored with the Distinguished Artisan Award at the 2025 Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) Awards. The award recognizes an artist’s continuous collaboration with Local 706 Make-Up Artists in creating iconic and memorable characters throughout their career.
Janney, known for her breakthrough role on The West Wing, where she won four Primetime Emmys, has also received acclaim for her performances in I, Tonya, American Beauty, The Hours, Hairspray, Juno, The Help, and Bombshell.
Julie Socash, president of IATSE Local 706, praised Janney’s diverse range of roles, calling her an actress who brings remarkable characters to life. “From a vice president to an estranged mother, Allison’s versatility has made a lasting impact in the entertainment industry,” Socash said.
The 12th Annual MUAHS Awards will be held on Saturday, February 15, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
